Decentring the Analysis of European Foreign Policy in a non-European and post-Western Order

OPEN LECTURE

Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 · 10:00 c.t. · Lecture Room 8, Neue Aula

Stephan Keukeleire is Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, KU Leuven, and one of the most prominent analysts of EU foreign and security policy. He is head of the Centre for European Studies at Leuven. His many publications include The Foreign Policy of the European Union (Palgrave, 2014), and, as co-editor, The Diplomatic System of the European Union (Routledge, forthcoming), as well as articles in Cooperation and Conflict, European Foreign Affairs Review, Cambridge Review of International Affairs, Journal of European Public Policy, among many others. His co-authored 2016 piece ‘Beyond EU navel-gazing: Taking stock of EU-centrism in the analysis of EU foreign policy’ sparked a lively debate in EU foreign policy analysis circles about the ways in which we think about and conceptualise European foreign policy. It is this debate that he will address in this lecture.
