Welcome at the Research Unit Local Political Cultures
Political culture and everyday life are closely linked. Everyday experiences and practices shape our political perceptions, attitudes and actions. The immediate local world plays an important role in this: it forms the framework for individual and collective experiences and actions. With a focus on Baden-Württemberg, we analyse regional and local political cultures. These have a significant influence on whether and to what extent far right ideologies, actors and attitudes are anchored, widespread and connectable to a broader public. We analyse these aspects from a spatially oriented perspective, particularly with regard to attitudes, elections and far right events.
