Holger Stritzel has been lecturer at the School of International Relations (University of St Andrews) since 2009. He received his PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Holger Stritzel’s research interests include international relations theory and security theory, transatlantic relations, European security affairs, comparative foreign policy and transnational networks (especially with regards to German-American affairs), and qualitative methods including historical research and discourse analysis.
Among his publications are Security in Translation: Securitization Theory and the Localisation of Threat (Palgrave Macmillan, forthcoming), ‘Securitization, Power, Intertextuality: Discourse Theory and the Translations of Organised Crime’, in: Security Dialogue (2012) as well as ‘Towards a Theory of Securitization: Copenhagen and Beyond’, in: European Journal of International Relations (2007). He was also a member of the collective on Critical Approaches to Security in Europe (CASE), whose “Networked Manifesto” appeared in Security Dialogue 37/ 2006 (4).
