Master’s program recommendation letter
Please note that all requests for recommendation letters will only be processed if submitted to us at least three weeks before the submission deadline.
Please also take into account possible chair closures and other periods of unavailability, which are announced under News & Events are announced there; please take these into account as well.
External applications:
As a rule, we provide recommendation letters for master’s programs in a standardized format in german or english and adapt them linguistically to the respective requirements. In the case of online applications, please also provide us with an appropriate email address as a precaution.

If you are applying for several programs, fill in an additional complete column to the right for each additional letter.
We additionally require:
- If you have already completed your bachelor’s degree: your bachelor’s diploma or a confirmation of your grade point average issued by the Examination Office.
- If you have not yet completed your bachelor’s degree: a PDF transcript of records including a confirmation of your grade point average issued by the Examination Office.
Please send the complete documents by email to the chair. Please also indicate whether we should send the letter in paper form or, in the case of online procedures, directly by email.
Internal application:
For internal applications, no letters of recommendation are required – see application for
