The Center for Brazil and Latin America at the Tübingen University is honored to be part of the German delegation of DWIH São Paulo at the 76th Annual Meeting of the SBPC (Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência).  Dr. Martina Schulze, coordinator and director of the Center, was present on the occasion. The Annual Meeting of the SBPC was held at the Universidade Federal do Pará, in Belém and takes place from July 7 to 13, 2024.

On July 9th took place the traditional DWIH São Paulo roundtable at this Event. The roundtable brought together Brazilian and German experts to discuss the theme “The attractiveness of a scientific career in Brazil for foreign researchers”.

The following were present in this occasion: German professors Stephanie Dahn Batista (Federal University of Paraná) and Judith Johanna Hoelzemann (Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte /INCT Klimapolis) and joined them Brazilian experts Rui Oppermann (CAPES - Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) and Dalila Oliveira (CNPq). They have the opportunity exchange ideas on how foreign researchers can establish their work in Brazil, understand the challenges of internationalizing Brazilian universities, and think about attracting more foreign specialists to the country.

Later that evening, the German Night at Casa Namata offered a chance to socialize.

We're looking forward to the next edition in Recife in 2025!
