Presentation: Partners and Rivals: China’s Role in the New World Order
Discussions about China's role on the international stage often lack historical and cultural context and depth. Dr. Matthias Niedenführ’s presentation endeavours to provide an objective and fair picture of China in examining questions concerning the ways in which China’s traditional self-perception influences current PRC policies and the extent to which ambitions to (re)gain superpower status hold sway.
To coincide with the opening of an exhibition of Chinese calligraphy at the Chinahaus in Freiberg-am-Neckar, Dr. Matthias Niedenführ has organised a day of lectures, calligraphy workshops and performances in Freiberg-am-Neckar. The exhibition features a calligraphy exhibition by Mr. JIN Ming, lecturer at the European Centre for Chinese Studies (ECCS), Peking University and Mrs. Dan-wei Zhu-Mittag, lecturer of calligraphy at the Department of Chinese Studies, Tübingen University.
Open to the public
