Kurzbeschreibung:
Research on Medieval Religious Women has developed differently in German- and English-speaking academic spheres. The purpose of the collaboration between German and English speaking scholars in the group "AGFEM" (Arbeitskreis geistliche Frauen im europäischen Mittelalter) is to bring scholars of medieval women’s religious communities from across this methodological spectrum together to increase their understanding of the diverse methods of historical research – from conservative to post-modern – for the mutual benefit of the scholars involved, and to explore the possibilities for moving forward together as a field of research. This collaboration consists of bi-lingual workshops, student exchanges and the development of an internet-based forum for German-American collaboration.
