Economic History and Empirical Microeconomics

Economic History and Empirical Macroeconomics

We study how monetary and fiscal policy shape the economy, and how households, firms and experts form expectations about them. Combining modern econometric methods with survey evidence and historical data, we aim to identify the causal effects of economic policy and to understand what drives inflation and business cycles.

Key topics include:

  • Monetary policy and central banking
  • Inflation and expectations
  • Fiscal policy and public finance
  • Business cycles and macroeconomic shocks
  • Economic history
