I am Xenia Stein and have been pursuing a PhD in this research group since November 2022. As a hybrid between mathematics didactics and empirical educational research I am constantly moving between peaks and valleys, where the Hector Institute for Empirical Educational Research (HIB) is located. For my dissertation project, I developed an asynchronous online course designed to introduce highly gifted elementary school children to the art of mathematical proof. This course is part of the offerings of the Hector Kinderakademien and was piloted with this special target group in the summer of 2023. After developing an appropriate testing instrument, I aim to investigate whether and to what extent the children’s proof competencies improve through my course.
Mein Name ist Ann-Marie Buchmann, ich habe im März 2023 meinen Master of Science in Mathematik abgeschlossen und bin nun seit Juni 2024 Mitarbeiterin in der Arbeitsgruppe Mathematik und ihre Didaktik. Mein Ziel ist es, im Rahmen des Projekts TOSCAneo zu promovieren. Da ich kein Lehramtsstudium der Mathematik absolviert habe, bin ich aktuell dabei, mich in die Fachliteratur der Mathematikdidaktik einzuarbeiten und ein konkretes Promotionsthema zu finden.
Armin Fabian promovierte 2024 in der AG Mathematik und ihre Didaktik. Seine Dissertation trägt den Titel "Modeling, measuring and fostering (pre-service) teachers' professional knowledge to integrate technologies in mathematics education". Inzwischen arbeitet er als Post-Doktorand am Hector-Institut für Empirische Bildungsforschung im Projekt ALIFE zur Entwicklung und Evaluation adaptiver, innovativer Onlinefortbildungen für Lehrkräfte (Webseite).
