Biography
After having completed a Bachelor’s programme in social work at the DHBW Stuttgart, Lea continued to study political science and sociology (B.A.) and Democracy and Governance in Europe (M.A.) at the University of Tübingen. In addition to two semesters at ULiège and Sciences Po Paris, Lea also lived and worked in Canada, the United Kingdom and Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Between 2019 and 2021, Lea conducted qualitative research for the project Migration and Social Protection (MiSP), followed by the project Regulating Return Migration in the EU (2022-2023), for which she collected and analysed emigrant return policies across the European Union. For her PhD, Lea is currently researching the politics of emigration in Europe.
Research Interest
Lea focuses on the intersection of public policy and migration in the EU context and is especially interested in social policy and welfare, gender and sexuality and intersecting inequalities.
