The Zoological Collection is primarily used for academic teaching and research. Two exhibition halls are also open to the public.

On the ground floor there is a collection of exotic animal species built up according to biogeographical criteria as well as a collection of molluscs.

Based on the previous research priorities in Tübingen, the scientific collection focuses on vertebrates and insects.

 

An extensive skeletion collection also offers other disciplines such as palaeontology and prehistory the opportunity for close cooperation with zoology.
