Project

The excavations at Tell el-Burak are a joint project of the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (represented by Uwe Finkbeiner, Altorientalisches Seminar, and Jens Kamlah, Biblisch-Archäologisches Institut) and the American University of Beirut (represented by Hélène Sader).

The Orientabteilung des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts (represented by Margarete van Ess) is a partner in the German-Lebanese cooperation through the support of individual projects.

The first phase of the project was financed by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung, the second phase by the Fritz-Thyssen-Stiftung.

Further financial support was granted by the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, by the promotional association of the Protestant Theological Faculty in Kiel (S.T.O.A.), by the Deutscher Palästina-Verein and also by the Universitätsbund of Tübingen University.
