How is the seminar structured?

The format follows the regular scientific process:

  • You choose a research topic (topic assignment).
  • You independently review the academic literature on your topic and derive a research question (first supervision meeting – after about 2–3 weeks).
  • You identify the relevant data for the empirical testing of your economic hypotheses, develop a test design, and present your work for critical review by your peers (first presentation – halfway through the processing period).
  • You test your economic hypotheses using appropriate econometric methods, prepare and interpret your results, and again present them for critical feedback from your peers (second presentation – one week before submission).
  • You submit a written paper (final submission).
