Exhibition 'Cyber and the City' - Public opening on February 10
The public opening of the exhibition at Stadtmuseum Tübingen takes place on Friday, February 10 at 06:00 pm, right in front of the museum. All are welcome to attend, admission is free.
Together with the Stadtmuseum, a team of machine learning students and anthropology students from the University of Tübingen has worked for over a year to create this exhibition, titled ‚Cyber and the City‘, under the guidance of our Cluster speaker Ulrike Luxburg and Thomas Thiemeyer, Professor for Historical and Cultural Anthropology
Tübingen is becoming an important site for the research and development of artificial intelligence (AI). Politicians expect AI to provide a secure future for the entire region. For others, this development is a cause for protest.
The exhibition explains the technology behind AI and provides room for debates about the use and misuse of the new technologies. Hands-on stations show visitors in a comprehensible way how machine learning works and how it can be applied. The exhibition presents the institutions, places and people who are researching and thinking about AI here. They have their own say, as do the critics and protagonists of the protests in Tübingen. With her work "Humano[i]de", the artist Sabine Bloch has created a photo-graphic-artistic commentary on the topic especially for this exhibition.
The exhibition is on display from February 11 to October 22, 2023.
