Marketing

As the Marketing and Data Science group we are responsible for accreditation of courses that deal with topics related to marketing or data science. For other courses please reach out to the respective chair.

Before you begin your studies abroad

To determine whether your desired courses can be accredited, please contact Jakob Zgonc before starting your studies abroad.

As a general rule, only advanced Bachelor-level courses (from the 3rd year onward) or Master-level courses are eligible for accreditation. Introductory courses (analogous to “B220 Marketing” in the Bachelor and “B420 Marketing-Mix Management” in the Master’s program) cannot be recognized, regardless of the year of study.

To check whether your selected courses meet these requirements, please submit all information necessary for an assessment, including:

  • Information on your study program (degree program and current status)
  • Detailed course syllabus for each course, including
    • course contents and proof for marketing or data science focus
    • course level (at least third year Bachelor or Master, not introductory course)
    • work load, credits
    • examination/assessment type

We review each course individually based on its content. Therefore, please submit only the courses you actually intend to enroll in. Please note that only PDF files are accepted. General links to course descriptions or course catalogs cannot be considered. Course descriptions must be provided either in English or German.

General information regarding the recognition of academic achievements from abroad can be found on the pages of the Department of Business and Economics (2018-07Merkblatt_und_Learning_Agreement.pdf).

After you have completed your studies abroad

After your return, please submit the following documents to Jakob Zgonc for the final accreditation decision:

Printed original (via mail, in person or forwarded by another chair):

  • “Laufzettel für Anerkennungen” (yellow form sheet, available at the Examination Office)

Digital document via e-mail (jakob.zgoncspam prevention@uni-tuebingen.de):

  • Application form
  • Syllabus for each completed course, including literature, workload/credits, type of examination, and proof that the course is at least at the 3rd-year level. Please create one PDF per course. We do not accept general links to course descriptions or course catalogs.
  • Transcript of Records from the host university
  • Transcript of Records from the University of Tübingen

We are happy to forward your “Laufzettel” (yellow form sheet) to other chairs or the exmination office.
