If you need a letter of recommendation, for example for an application for a semester abroad, a Master's program, or a scholarship, please send us an email indicating which of our courses you attended, including the course title and semester. Please also attach an updated transcript of records.

The recommendation will usually include the following statement:

"I know Ms./Mr. XYZ from my course xxx at the University of Tübingen. Based on her/his grade point average and performance in my courses, I can confirm that Ms./Mr. XYZ belongs to the top xxx% of our students."

This statement is based on your relative grade. The grade statistics here show the relative grades for the courses you attended.

We try to provide letters of recommendation as quickly as possible. Please note that issuing a recommendation may take longer due to vacation, illness, or additional enquiries. Therefore, please contact us as early as possible. We usually provide letters of recommendation within 10 days; in individual cases, it may take up to four weeks.
