Cognition and Perception
Our research group investigates elementary cognitive mechanisms. A major focus of our research is on temporal cognition. We are especially interested in the mechanisms of time perception and the relation of time and language processing. Further research areas are the cognitive mechanisms of attention, multisensory integration, and action planning. We employ chronometric, psychophysical and psychophysiological measures to unravel these mechanisms. In addition, we develop mathematical models and statistical procedures in order to gain further insights into these mechanisms.
Our working group offers Bachelor and Master thesis projects for Psychology and Cognitive Sciences students. Students will get a unique insight into Experimental Psychology research and will be offered support in the theoretical and practical aspects of the topic as well as help with the experimental design and data analyses.
