Dr. Ludovica Paseri

Ludovica Paseri is a postdoctoral researcher at the “Norms and Practices” Lab, part of the Machine Learning (ML) Cluster of Excellence of the University of Tübingen. She serves as an associate editor of Springer’s “Digital Society” Journal, where she is responsible for the “Law and regulation for the digital society” area, and is a Fellow of the Nexa Center for Internet and Society at Politecnico di Torino. She previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Philosophy of Law and Legal Informatics at the Law Department of the University of Turin. Her research lies at the intersection of law and technology, philosophy of law, and legal informatics. She investigates how digital technologies, data, and AI transform scientific and legal practices, modes of knowledge production, and frameworks of responsibility and governance. Her work combines normative and epistemic approaches to examine the role of the public interest in the EU digital rulebook, with a particular focus on data access and reuse, civil society participation, and accountability. She holds a PhD in Law from the international “Law, Science and Technology” Joint Doctorate programme of the University of Bologna and the University of Luxembourg. Her publications address Open Science and research data, data governance, AI and digital regulation, and the legal and ethical dimensions of data and AI in scientific research. She also teaches courses in law and technology, legal theory, and digital society across law and interdisciplinary programmes, and regularly contributes to academic and interdisciplinary initiatives at the intersection of law, technology, and science.
