Welcome to the website of the International Relations and Peace and Conflict Research Cluster at the University of Tübingen.

Since the 1970s, the cluster has developed into a major research centre in Germany and beyond. At present, it is centered around the Chairs of Thomas Diez and Andreas Hasenclever. On our pages, you will find the most important information about our work as well as up-to-date news, information about our publications as well as online papers.

Book launch

On July 23, 2025, we warmly invite you to the festive book launch of “Transnational Infrastructures and the Transformation of Global Orders" as part of the departmental seminar.
The book – edited by Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Bieling, Prof. Dr. Thomas Diez, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Riccarda Flemmer, and Dr. Andrea Futterer – explores how transformations in infrastructures shape, challenge, and reconfigure global orders. Further information can be found here.

Lecture Laura Sjoberg

On July 07, 2025, we will welcome Prof. Dr. Laura Sjoberg (University of Oxford) to our Departmental Colloquium. She will explore how state borders, global politics, and even the idea of the state itself are shaped by sexual acts and relationships. Further information can be found here.
