Aim of the study

In my Master’s thesis, I investigate whether macrozoobenthic communities (small but still visible aquatic invertebrates) change in diversity and abundance in response to environmental stressors from wastewater input as well as extreme weather conditions. I focus on possible differences in community diversity and abundance downstream a four-stage wastewater treatment plant in the River Schmiecha as well as possible changes observed during dry weather periods.
