Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry

Working group of Prof. Gauglitz

Prof. Dr. Günter Gauglitz

Prof. Dr. Gauglitz has a professorship for analytical chemistry since 1987. The section analytical chemistry, bio- and chemosensors represents one of four independent sections of the department for physical and theoretical chemistry of the university of Tübingen. In 2010 Prof. Dr. Udo Weimar was appointed as second professor to this department.

The focus of research of the workgroup has moved towards the development of optical sensors during the past five years. Nevertheless, also significant advances in the field of optical spectroscopy, monitoring the detection in chromatography processes, and photokinetics of photochrome systems have been achieved in the past years.

The workgroup can look back on decades of successful cooperation with other research institutions as well as industry. This is due to a manifold participation in national as well as international research projects funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), the European Union (EU), the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft industrielle Forschung (AiF).
