FIRSTSTEPS begins!

The new ERC Advanced project “Our first steps to Europe: Pleistocene Homo sapiens dispersals, adaptations and interactions in South-East Europe (FIRSTSTEPS)” started!

Katerina Harvati, team, and collaborators have been conducting research in South-East Europe, and especially the Balkan region, for more than 10 years now. FIRSTSTEPS will further test the hypothesis of the key role of South-East Europe in human evolution, conducting fieldwork and analyzing old and new findings from the area.
