HRM and Organization

Research

At the department, we take a personnel economics perspective on HR questions. In most of our projects, we follow a quantitative empirical approach. Our quantitative-empirical papers are complemented by theory papers and, more recently, also by qualitative work. For our analyses, we use different data sources that include archival data, survey data, experimental data, firm data from personnel records, sports and game show data.
Currently, research at the department focusses on the following research areas:

  • Incentive and compensation systems
  • Behavioural economics
  • Corporate governance
  • Gender and diversity
  • Higher education
  • Multinational firms
  • Sports economics
  • Teams
