Intuitions in ethical judgement - helpful or misleading?

In our everyday lives, we constantly have to make decisions. We make many of these decisions spontaneously, on instinct. Others - and these are the ones we want to talk about - we think about for longer, weigh up the pros and cons and try to find good reasons for our actions. When it comes to morally relevant decisions, we do both - sometimes more intuitively, sometimes more reflectively. There is a heated debate among experts as to which form of basing decisions on moral judgements is better. My answer to this is that both intuition and reflection are needed.
