New publication: "Abwägen und Anwenden" anthology

Questions of ethical application have been the subject of controversial public debate for decades. The so-called applied ethics claim to make a contribution to orientation in concrete moral problems. That ethics "applies" a fixed set of norms and principles to concrete real problems in the world is, of course, too simple. For neither the formulation of the problem nor the relevant moral norms can be assumed to be justified or always accepted without further ado. In this volume basic questions of "application" in ethics are critically reflected. In case law, current developments call for a renewed methodological examination of established practice. In medicine and education, questions of ethical evaluation beyond "application" can be found that require different ways of ethical reflection. This volume contributes to the conceptual and practical further consideration of ethical considerations and to the exploration of the conditions of 'good' consideration.
