Janina Dax is a research associate at the Research Unit for Youth Presents at the Research Center for Science Communication at the University of Tübingen. She studied General Rhetoric and Empirical Cultural Studies at the University of Tübingen, as well as Supervision, Coaching, and Mediation at the University of Salzburg.
In her work at the intersection of rhetoric and psychology, she pursues the concept of a rhetoric of understanding. She is particularly interested in understanding in counseling, teaching, and conflict-related contexts—especially the question of how rhetorical and psychological approaches can contribute to the development of professional reflection, communication, and interpersonal skills.
At the research center, she designs and facilitates training programs to enhance presentation skills. She is also responsible for the network and the professional development of the trainers. In addition to her work at the university, she works as a freelance supervisor, coach, mediator, and trainer/instructor.
