Excavation Ammerbuch-Poltringen

From 26 February to 22 March 2024, an excavation will take place at an Early and Middle Neolithic settlement on the western outskirts of Ammerbuch-Poltringen in the "Wasenbreite" parcel. This will be accompanied by geomagnetic measurements in the Ammer Valley. A minimum participation of two weeks is required for an educational excavation.

New Special Exhibition in Unterjesingen

The successful special exhibition "Gold in the Ammer Valley - The end of the Stone Age in the Tübinbgen area" is entering its second round. On 24 January 2024, the new exhibition on archaeological research in the Ammer Valley was opened by the local mayor Michael Rak in the town hall of Tübingen-Unterjesingen. The exhibition presents the current excavation projects from the Neolithic to the Early Bronze Age, which are being carried out in cooperation between the Institute of Prehistory and Early History at the University of Tübingen and the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments at the Stuttgart Regional Council.
The exhibition can be viewed during the opening hours of the town hall, Monday to Friday from 8am to 12pm and additionally on Tuesdays from 2pm to 6pm.
