Academic Profile

My name is Bianca Hepp and I am a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Ludwig Uhland Institute since September 2021. I have been interested in belonging and migration since my undergraduate studies in South Slavic and Southeast European Studies. My doctoral project gives me the opportunity to continue this research interest: I am investigating the negotiation of belonging among the children and grandchildren of 'late' repatriates from Romania, moving between the fields of racism research, migration research and cultural research.
In addition to research and teaching, my responsibilities at the Institute include coordinating the Centre for German History and Culture in Southeastern Europe (ZDGS).
