Lina Weber

Lina Weber was a research assistant in the team "Political Struggles in the Global South" from January 2023 to March 2024. After completing her Bachelor's degree in Political Science and American Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, she is currently finishing her Master's degree in Public Policy and Social Change at the University of Tübingen, as part of which she studied for a year with Erasmus at SciencesPo Paris in 2022. During her studies, she is interested in combining climate and environmental issues with justice. She is currently doing a traineeship at the European Commission in Brussels.

Mariana Contreras Leal

Mariana Contreras Leal supported the research group Political Struggles of the Global South as a student assistant from October 2022 to September 2023. From 2021 to 2023 she studied the Master Cultures of the Global South (MGS) at the University of Tübingen. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor's degree in International Relations at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (TEC) in Mexico City. Parallel to her MA studies, Mariana worked as an intern at the Stay Foundation in Stuttgart in the Stay-Bee and Stay-Seed projects, which conduct research on social development in Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. In addition to her work in the Global Struggles in the Global South team, Mariana was a research assistant at the RHET AI Center at the Institute for Media Studies at the University of Tübingen, where she studied the impact, perception and adoption of artificial intelligence in Latin America. Mariana currently works at the Consensus Group in Stuttgart. The company trains mediators to resolve conflicts through dialog.

Milene Meneghetti Bruhn

Milene Meneghetti Bruhn has worked as a research assistant at the Political Struggles of the Global South team from April to September 2022. She holds a M.A. in Peace Research and International Relations from the University of Tübingen, and a B.A. in International Relations from ESPM, Brazil. Since July 2022, she is a research assistant at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF).

Svea Thiele

Svea Thiele supported the Political Struggles of the Global South as a research assistant from April to September 2022. After completing her Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Romance Studies at the University of Erfurt and the Universidad de Medellín, Colombia, she completed the Master's programme in Peace Research and International Relations (MAPIR) at the University of Tübingen. As part of her Master's programme, Svea Thiele spent a semester at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City. Alongside her studies, she completed various internships, including at the Centre for International Peace Operations, the German Embassy in Costa Rica and the headquarters of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. She completed her Master's degree in January 2024. Since March 2024, Svea Thiele has been working for Malteser International in Cologne as Programme Operations Assistant for the DR Congo country team.
