The research group brings together colleagues from the Center for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities and the Chair of Ethics, Theory, and History of the Life Sciences. It addresses, on the one hand, socio ecological and philosophical questions concerning nature and the more than human world from ethical, theoretical, and historical perspectives. On the other hand, the research group examines sustainable development in a comprehensive sense as a question of justice and responsibility toward present and future generations through the integration of ecological, economic, social, and cultural dimensions.
The current research focus areas are:
Education for Sustainable Development
Transdisciplinary Research for Sustainable Development
Conceptual Foundations and Institutional Embedding of Sustainable Development
