Welcome to the Department of School Education!

School Education as a scientific discipline investigates processes in the schools and classrooms, as well as professional development of teachers within the contexts of associated institutions and society itself. It focusses on all stakeholders involved, with particular attention given to the behavior of students and teachers. Key topics are teaching, individual schools, professional development and the school system. Our research is characterized by differential approaches in theory and (empirical) methods, in order to adopt a multi-perspective stance toward the research object.
