She studied Regional Studies of Latin America (Bachelor of Arts) at the University of Cologne and the Universidad Alberto Hurtado (Santiago de Chile) as well as Peace Research and International Politics (Master of Arts) in Tübingen. Her doctoral thesis deals with questions concerning NGO ambivalence and examines the transformative and reproducing potential of NGO advocacy work, using the Arms Trade Treaty as an example.
Since 2017, Charlotte also works as advisor on arms export control for the NGO Ohne Rüstung Leben in Stuttgart.
