Prof. Markus Pudelko Presents Unpublished Research Findings

2026 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Philadelphia

Held at the end of July, the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting is a key event for management scholars. Prof. Markus Pudelko was among the presenters at this year’s conference and also spoke as a guest speaker on the topic “Successful Publishing as a Non-Native Speaker in English as the Language of Publication”.

Typically, well over 10,000 participants attend the AOM Annual Conference. Last year, it was held outside North America for the first time - in Copenhagen - and broke all records with 14,000 attendees. In contrast, this year’s sharp decline was painfully evident: only 7,000 participants made their way to Philadelphia. The dramatic decline in international conference attendees in the U.S. has been very evident for several years now. As a result, a number of AOM conferences that had already been planned for the U.S. have now been moved to Europe (Vienna, Frankfurt, and London).

The parties organized by the International Management Division, of which Prof. Pudelko is a member, are always legendary at the AOM. This year, the party took place on a sailboat on the Delaware River. The friendly gentleman to the left of Prof. Pudelko introduced himself to him as Benjamin Franklin.
