Workshop in the winter term 2024

Analysis and evaluation of the ‘Justice Strengthening Act’ (Justizstandort-Stärkungsgesetz)

The so-called "Justice Strengthening Act" was adopted in autumn 2024 and will come into force on 1 April 2025. The Act is designed to establish new commercial courts, which will have jurisdiction over commercial disputes with an amount of at least 500.000 € if the parties agree on proceedings before this court. The legislator has introduced new elements for these proceedings, such as an agreement between the court and the parties regarding the organisation of the proceedings. Further, the proceedings can be conducted in English up to the date of the final decision.

The aim of the seminar is to discuss this new development. It will take place on 31 January 2025 as a block seminar. The preliminary meeting has already taken place. A registration for the seminar is no longer possible.

A list of possible topics to discuss can be found: here
