Welcome, Prof. Wills!

Prof. Wills from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, will be staying as a guest scientist for three months in our group to extend previous simulations of the original coupling between the two main processes of molecular biology, gene replication and translation.

We welcome Prof. Peter Wills to our group! Prof. Wills from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, will be staying as a guest scientist for three months in our group. His current research focus is the origin of life on Earth, particularly the genetic code, which he sees as the central feature distinguishing molecular biological systems from all other systems known in the universe. During his stay in Tübingen he will extend previous simulations of the original coupling between the two main processes of molecular biology, gene replication and translation.  The behaviour of these GRT model systems demonstrates how genetic information was first able to place molecular processes under internally purposeful computational control.
