Workshop Talk with Dr Frank Gadinger: Practice Theoretical Heuristics for Analyzing Social Change

On 22th September, we had the great pleasure to welcome Frank Gadinger for a small workshop format in Tübingen. Frank is internationally renowned for his contributions to establishing practice theories in the discipline of International Relations and had, accordingly, a lot to say about how to analyze social change from a practice theoretical perspective. After an interesting theoretical introduction, we delved into discussing our first empirical findings from the fieldwork in Uganda from Spring this year. Especially issues like visual analysis, following artefacts, and zooming in on individual practices were discussed against the backdrop of our gathered interview and observation data. We are very excited to put these methodological discussions to good use in the following months and thank Frank for the inspiring day.
