In the LeNa Shape joint project, a novel and complex research structure is being implemented to investigate how the principle of "research in social responsibility" changes research processes and projects in terms of quality, impact and motivation of researchers.

The University of Tübingen (International Center for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities) is a collaborative partner in Module 2: The goal of LeNa Value is to develop ethically reflected and justified criteria for the quality of research ("excellence") as well as a methodology (metrics and indicators) for analyzing the impact of research on the realization of a more globally sustainable development, taking into account the context of science theory and policy. On the part of the University of Tübingen, the goal (together with the cooperation partner from LMU Munich) lies primarily in the scientific-theoretical and -ethical analysis of the relationship between science and ethics with reference to research in social responsibility.
