Positions as Research Associates (f/m/d) to fill

In the research group SCRATCH (Society, Culture and Technological Change) on questions of integrative technological development. Pay grade TV-L E 13 (50%, increase possible).

The staff member is involved in the BMBF-project ESTER, which is part of the Cluster Integrierte Forschung. The focus of work is:
• Ethical and sociological analyses of the integration of ethical and social aspects in technological development projects.
• Contributing to developing the funding concept „Integrierte Forschung” into a research concept.
• Conzeptualizing and conducting a collaborative intervention on the question how to make the generation of ideas for a technological development project more integrative.

The duration of the open positions is linked to the duration of the externally funded project (31.3.2024). Applicants are expected to have the following qualifications:
• A Master's degree in Philosophy, Science and Technology Studies, Sociology, Social Anthropology, Political Science, or other social science or humanities discipline.
• Knowledge of one or more project topics. A relevant PhD is a plus, but not a must.
• A good written and oral expression in German already present at the time of employment is also required due to the necessity to write reports in German.
• Competencies in the field of ethics of technology and/or applied ethics in general, or if not trained in the field of ethics, a demonstrated interest in ethical issues and approaches.
• A willingness and ability to work across disciplines.
