Ivana Fleischer

(née Fabková) was born and raised in Poprad, Slovakia. She studied chemistry at the Commenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, where she conducted Diploma thesis under the supervision of Professor Štefan Toma in the field of ferrocene synthesis (with honours). Later on, she moved to Basel, Switzerland, to work with Professor Andreas Pfaltz on mass spectrometric screening methods for chiral organocatalysts. After receiving her PhD in 2010 (summa cum laude), she joint the group of Professor Matthias Beller at Leibniz Institute for Catalysis in Rostock, Germany as a postdoctoral fellow of the Swiss National Science Foundation. She developed new ruthenium-based catalysts for hydroformylation reactions. From 2013 to 2017, she was a group leader at the University of Regensburg and Liebig fellow of the Fonds der chemischen Industrie. In April 2017, she was appointed as assistant professor at the University of Tübingen. In 2023, she was promoted to full professor at the same institution. In her free time, she loves to read, hike, climb and bike.
