Michael Poole Highly Commended Award

The Editors-in-Chief, Associate Editors, Editorial Board and Publisher of The International Journal of Human Resource Management conferred The Michael Poole Highly Commended Award for 2019 to Martin R. Schneider, Anja Iseke & Kerstin Pull for their paper: The gender pay gap in European executive boards - the role of executives’ pathway into the board”.

The criteria to evaluate submissions for the Michael Poole Award include that the paper focuses on topics that are relevant for the mission of the journal, challenges established HRM assumptions / concepts, and pinpoint problems, makes a novel contribution to theory and/or methods, is based on unique and rigorous research methodology, will change how we think about the topic in the future and will inspire discussions and further investigations of the topic.
