New format in the lecture on Personnel Economics: “Talk to a practitioner”

In an effort to foster greater engagement and practical learning opportunities for students, Professor Dr. Kerstin Pull tested an innovative new format during her Personnel Economics lecture on February 8, 2023.

The format, titled "Talk to a Practitioner," invites industry experts to share their practical experience and insights on topics discussed in the lecture, and engage with students in a brief 15-minute discussion.

The inaugural guest speaker for this format was Dr. Klaus Kremper, former executive board member of Deutsche Bahn AG and CEO of DB Schenker Rail Deutschland AG. Dr. Kremper shared his experience and insights on a major redundancy program at DB Cargo via a ZOOM call, allowing students in the lecture hall to see and hear him and ask him questions.

The "Talk to a Practitioner" format was met with a positive response from students, who enjoyed the opportunity to interact with Dr. Kremper and gain practical insights on the redundancy program. Many students expressed appreciation for the learning experience presented by this format.

The success of the first session has lead us to continue developing and utilizing this format in future lectures. It's clear that this new approach to learning has resonated with students, and we look forward to future opportunities to engage with practitioners and expand our knowledge of the subject matter together.
