I highly recommend the T-IES winter school (2026) for anyone interested in trying out studying abroad and getting to know people from all around the world! The staff, lecturers, student assistants, and Tübingen students volunteering as buddies were always kind, helpful and supportive. They made it easy to meet new friends, learn our way around the city, and find local places to visit. The orientation program at Bad Liebenzell was so much fun and helped everyone break the ice and make fast friends. I participated in Track B “States, People, and the Question of Identity in Europe” and loved hearing about these issues from inside the EU itself. The academic structure of the program itself was perfect, fast-paced without feeling too rushed, and the classes were engaging and informative. There were plenty of chances to get out of the classroom and spend time with new people in different circumstances. The study trip to Strasbourg was a highlight and visiting the European Parliament there was such a unique opportunity. The activities organised by the program, including bowling, a pub night, the pot luck dinner and welcome/farewell evenings were run well and offered great ways to try new things. There were constantly opportunities to go out with people, plan weekend trips and overall just get to spend time in the gorgeous city. Living in a university town was such a cool, unique experience that we don’t really get in Australia, so I’m super grateful I took this chance to experience it. The university facilities, canteen, and libraries were all great and I definitely would’ve gotten more involved in student life with a few more weeks. I truly had an amazing experience and everyone I met in the program wished we had more time there! I’ve made friends for life and would come back to Tübingen and its university any day.

I had a wonderful time in Tübingen for the 2026 Winter School! I met so many new people from around the world and made lots of new friends. We had a great time bonding at Bad Liebenzell castle, and the study trip to Strasbourg was definitely the highlight of my trip. We toured the city and visited the European Parliament, and had lots of free time to go wherever we wanted around the city. We also had the opportunity to travel around France for the weekend instead of going back to Tübingen with the bus, so I got to go to Paris which is only about 2 hours away by train!

I participated in Track A: "Europe, Memory and Diversity" and learned a lot about the way that Europeans remember important parts of history such as the Holocaust, the process of creating new memories and the different types of memory. It was so great hearing the opinions of my classmates and I learned a lot from them too.

Coming to Tubingen in January for the 2024 T-IES Winter School had been my first time travelling to Europe and it has been a deeply valuable and worthwhile experience, both academically and personally.

Not only was I able to claim 10CPs as a free elective towards my degree at my home university, I was also immersed in German and European culture through meaningful interactions with the Tubingen student buddies, T-IES teaching & support staff, my lovely German host family, and the broader community while living there for 4 weeks.

I left the program with profound new knowledge on the topics of migration, human rights and religion within Europe, based on the course content within Track A. This has undoubtedly broadened my worldview and instilled in me a newfound desire to travel more and continue learning about these issues in the global landscape.

The German language course was also a surprising highlight for me as I really enjoyed the quality of teaching we received, having no prior exposure to the language and culture. I had a great teacher and the classes were always engaging and fun!

I'll always look back fondly on my experience in Tubingen.

What a great opportunity. Not only did I learn so much about recent European history and EU institutions, but I also learned about the nuances of EU membership, methods to sustainable integration and peace, intercultural competence, and topical aspects. I enjoyed learning with a diverse cohort - students came from all around the world. I already miss my experience with IES Tübingen!

Studying in Tübingen has been, by far, my favourite university experience. I made lifelong friends during the IES winter school 2020 program and also immensely enjoyed staying with my host family and the culturally immersive experiences the program offers. The IES winter school is an opportunity to be really immersed in German culture particularly through the buddy program, much more than a Contiki tour! I also enjoyed the academic part of the program. The lecturers are engaging and value discussion. The study trips to the European Parliament and Bundestag in Berlin also add to the learning experience. I would recommend this program to everyone who wants to travel whilst studying and have a really immersive travel experience.

My time in Tübingen was characterised by a steady growth of appreciation for the processes of the European Union. The opportunity to examine how a variety of diverse nations and people have come together despite their historical and cultural differences was truly exceptional. Having completed the program, I now feel more confident that countries will solve their challenges if they remain committed to diversity and mutual respect.

Whilst all aspects of the program were thoroughly enjoyable, a core benefit was the opportunity to have a German ‘Buddy’. Exploring a foreign country can be daunting but it’s made so much better if you have a local to show you around. My ‘buddy’ was absolutely brilliant and definitely made my time in Germany better. Indeed, I’ve maintained contact with her and hope to catch up.

Beyond academic benefits, the opportunity to meet individuals from a range of cultural backgrounds was grand. By the conclusion of the program, I felt that I had made firm friends and exploring Europe with them is an experience that I will always remember fondly. I strongly encourage other students to apply for the program knowing that they will meet exceptional and interesting people. In my view, students with an appreciate for German or European history will particularly enjoy the program.

The University of Tübingen Winter School Program in European Union (EU) economics and politics is a wonderful opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds of study to delve into the complexities, nuance, and intrigue of European integration. With topics covering everything from political fragmentation, monetary convergence, radicalisation and ideological fundamentalism, economic crises, to EU membership augmentation, difficulties of social and cultural integration harmonisation, and , it was a thoroughly captivating program which developed - and in some cases, challenged - our pre-existing understanding and thoughts of modern-day European unification.
With a committed, supporting, and engaging group of International and European Studies (IES) academics and administrative staff, the program was an intellectually stimulating and enjoyable program to undertake. Similarly, with such a wholesome group of students from all parts of the world - coming from varied fields of study - the program was a pleasure to undertake.
As a student studying international relations, economics, and Francophone studies, this program has certainly been a wonderful opportunity. The program was a truly inspiring and enriching experience, one which I would highly recommend to any students seeking to obtain deeper understanding of the complexities of the EU.

The one-month IES Winter Program at the University of Tubingen gave me the necessary foundation of the evolution of European Integration:  how the EU is underpinned by historical, political, legal and economic pillars, and the basic functioning of the EU Institutions which became even more comprehensive during the trip to Strasbourg. During the program, I made lifelong friendships across the world and immersed myself in different cultures, including German culture and language.

I would recommend this program to those who are eager to learn how the EU functions, to study German language, to live German culture in a pretty medieval city of Tubingen, to meet and make a lot of friends from across the world.

Underpinning all of this, I am really happy to have been part of this one-month program, since it encouraged me to pursue an MA degree in EU Politics at the College of Europe in Bruges, by teaching me the fundamental aspects of the EU politics and good knowledge of German language which I thankfully use almost every day in my studies.

Personally, I took a lot of personal growth, by learning how to interact with a lot of different people and how to manage time, studying and entertainment. The IES program, for me, was one of the best experiences I’ve had abroad.

I would recommend the IES Courses to anyone who has interest in getting to know this big great world out there and wants to do something about their vacation. When you get to know people, exchange experiences and have such qualified classes, one grows not only personally, but also professionally.

More than an intercultural experience, for me I think the most important aspect of my experience in the program was to become aware of what education and, actually, what an academic profile really looks like in Europe and, specifically, in Germany. Ultimately, I liked the IES program, because it provided for a great range of interculturality with unique experiences, such as getting to know the European Parliament and the Bundestag.

The IES Online Program was a wonderful experience for me, especially during a difficult and socially isolated time. I believe the online version was a challenge, but it also democratizes access to the course and even so, it enables enriching intercultural exchanges. The lectures were very dynamic and I think this makes the IES programm a great opportunity to learn about the EU, but also to discuss current issues in perspectives from all over the world.

The Online Winter School at the University of Tübingen was an amazing opportunity to get a multicultural view on the EU and how it relates on an economical and political basis to different countries around the world. The debates were always encouraged and that deepened our knowledge and interests on the matter.
One of the best experiences in the program was to get to know people from completely different cultural backgrounds and still be able to discuss and understand each other with academic excellence and respect. I learned a lot from the professors and from my classmates.
I really appreciated the efforts from the IES Team to engage us and give us an experience as close as we would get if it had been in Tübingen. I certainly recommend it! Hope someday we can all meet and get to know the city!

Three words: Engaging, Comprehensive, Worthwhile. Attending the IES Online Program was one of the best decision I have ever made in 2020. The IES team had done a phenomenal job in making the program a success, especially during one of the most challenging times in decades. Not only did I learn about the political and institutional framework of the EU but also the political sociology that makes Europe what it is today.

The program has given me a new sense of appreciation towards the EU, global diplomacy and how much each of us is politically and historically more inter-related than we already are. I am tremendously grateful to have spent the end of 2020 with the passionate and dedicated IES professors, the IES team as well as my classmates who I have come to miss. I look forward to participating in more programmes offered by the IES department of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.

The IES program, namely International European Studies, is a highly-recommended summer program which is characterized by European politics, economy, culture, human rights and legal traditions. This program will provide you with inter-cultural workshops, excellent classes, amazing study trips and leisure activities that you will never forget. After this program, I have learned much knowledge covering various areas, honed my ability to think independently, practiced oral English, actively engaged in workshops and made friends from different backgrounds. If you want to experience an amazing exotic life, this program would be a perfect match. No matter who you are, no matter where you are from, no matter what your major is, IES can be your top choice if you ready to explore Germany and Tübingen. Trust me, IES is definitely on the top of my list when it comes to foreign experience. I have to say that all classes, experience, study trips, professors and IES team are beyond my expectations. The Summer School helped me to get a basic understanding of German culture and language in a short time. Contacting with people from different countries made me jump out of my comfort zone of communication and study.
In addition, I myself have a strong passion for studying in Germany and I met a lot of people around me who already shared the same ideas in German classes!

I would recommend this program to those who are willing to make friends during the holidays and who are keen on exploring the beauty behind different cultures and views.
To tell you the truth, in this program, I met a lot of friends (including really nice teachers) who I will not forget the rest of my life!

IES Program is not only a summer school that you can get to understand the integration of Europe countries but also a cherished chance to exchange ideas with students from diverse background. The summer school features economic development, human rights, and cultural identity, which is what I have not learnt from my home university.

The course itself does not need pre-requirements on politicial science which is friendly for the beginner or people who are interested. The faculty members and the administrative staff are friendly and thoughtful. Even during the pandemic situation, we have made the intercultural exchange experience unforgettable by providing the IES café and interactive tools to enhance our communication.

This program was a great opportunity to learn about the European Union and, above all, to get to know the German culture. The topics of the program met my academic interests since I study international relations. The classes were very interactive and, above all, the study trips contributed to making my learning more meaningful. The professors and program coordinators were always helpful and aware of us. In addition, this program had international students and I managed to make very strong connections with them, I learned a lot from them and I had the best time of my life learning from different cultures. Another benefit of the program was living with a host family. This was a great opportunity to learn more about German culture, food, customs, etc. I definitely love Tübingen (it is a pretty town, with wonderful architecture, nature, bridge, river, and welcoming people ) and plan to come back for my masters.

The summer program filled the gaps I had in the sphere of European and International studies, hence motivating me to go further with the topic. Moreover, the course included huge information on every sphere of European Union: politics, economy, history, diverse culture and of course the language course of one of the EU's essential languages: German.
I would recommend this to everyone who is interested in the European Union and International studies in general because the program almost perfectly captures the main aspects of it and gives the students the necessary theoretical skills to continue their path towards following the values of European Union and not only.
The whole program met my expectations, though, most of all, I like the trips to EU institutions and Bundestag, where we had the chance to meet a member of the German "Green party", Khris Kuhn and discuss interesting issues regarding the life and job of a parliamentarian.
Hopefully, I can join the program one more time in the future.

IES Short Programs truly are so much more than only academic courses. I did gain valuable knowledge about European Politics, Human Rights and Economics and developed learning and interpersonal skills. I learned cultural differences during T-IES courses. It is impressive for Japanese people because there are many things which I didn’t know in Japan such as cross cultural class, European politics, human rights in Europe, religion in Europe, economics in Europe and sustainability. All is really new and may be it is little difficult to follow at first, it’s exciting and it will be a nice experience of your student life.
The fieldwork was particularly exciting. I think everyone learns differently when they go to a place and actually see the historical buildings and listen to the stories.

I absolutely enjoyed my euro winter programme, it was a deeply transformative experience. Immersing myself in the history of the Holocaust gave me a profound understanding of memory, responsibility, and humanity, while engaging with people from different cultures expanded my perspective in ways I did not expect. Beyond Germany, visiting parts of France (Strasbourg) enriched the journey even further, exposing me to new languages, landscapes, and ways of life. What made the experience truly special, however, was the warmth and openness of the people I met, strangers who quickly felt like friends. Being away from the familiar noise of my everyday life offered a rare sense of calm and clarity, a breath of fresh air that allowed me to reflect, grow, and return home seeing the world and myself differently.

My participation in the Tübingen Winter School was certainly one to remember. I originally applied because I wanted to study something completely unrelated to my major in Europe, since I was feeling somewhat uncertain of what I was studying at the time, but it ended up being a life-changing experience that I’m so grateful to have had. Throughout the trip to Germany, I felt quite nervous but also thrilled and excited. I chose to do the journey alone, and no one from my home country was on the participant list, but that ended up being what allowed me to explore parts of myself I didn’t know existed, step outside my comfort zone, and get the most out of the experience.

All those nerves went away almost instantly as I first got to meet my buddy group. They were all so welcoming, kind, and open to learning about other people and cultures. Then our initial trip to the castle was magnificent as a way to get to know everyone in the group, break the ice, and overall just have a great time hearing from people from literally all over the world. The trip was excellently planned with fun activities such as ice skating, game night, and a bar to ourselves, plus the student assistants and staff were all super nice and friendly.

Back in Tübingen, we had all the freedom to explore not only the city but Europe itself. I believe there was an excellent balance between free time and weekends for travel and exploring, and planned activities with the whole group, such as bowling, a potluck party, going to a pub, and a city game. Academically speaking, the program was also an excellent chance to learn actively through discussions about the social and psychological effects of the Holocaust in the Germany we see today. The professors were well prepared and eager to not just lecture us but to engage and learn from us. There are perspectives you simply don’t get to hear unless you have the chance to talk to someone born and raised in a whole different culture. That’s my main takeaway from the academic part: the open-mindedness I developed by simply listening and being willing to take on new ideas.

I am deeply thankful to everyone who made this month so special. All the lecturers, participants, student assistants, and staff made my stay incredible and created a welcoming environment for all of us. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to take part in this program and will forever take these memories with me wherever I go. And although my time went by faster than I would’ve liked, I know I’ve made friends for life and will continue to explore, reflect, and grow from these lessons.

It will be a pleasure visiting beautiful Tuebingen during my visit to Germany and meeting the beautiful IES team in the near future.

I had an absolute blast during my time in Tübingen due to the wonderful and carefully curated program organised by UT-IES Team :) Made so many new friends from around the globe such as South Africa, US, Chile and Hong Kong which will be dearly missed!

In terms of learning, there was a lot that I learned within a span of 1 month there. For example, I took the German course A2 and the Bees and Artificial Intelligence Course. What I like about them were the fact that the courses were moderately challenging. Thus, it was not too difficult nor was it too easy. With this level of difficulty, I feel that I was given ample of space to explore and learn at my own pace without pressure. As the summer courses do not occupy much of your time during the week, there was always time to engage in other actitives or even continue studying to catch up on things. As a social science and media student, the courses were relevant to me especially about bees, politics and AI.

Besides academic, I enjoyed the field trips organised by the team such as the day trip to Strasbourg (my first trip to France), respective research trips (beekeeping farm, AI startup visit), Lake Konstanz and Hohenzollern Castle. These trips made me learn more than the usual in-class sessions.

My engagement with the various T-IES Student buddies and participants was productive and lovely. I learnt a lot about German culture including the other cultures of the respective participants from various countries. The unification of different cultures and people through this program was something I value most as we learned to come to an understanding and appreciate the differences. Moreover, the T-IES Team themselves were also a helpful, friendly and caring bunch that dedicate a lot to help the participants which I am grateful for!

For all this reasons, I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is curious about German culture or Europe and loves to meet new and fun people!

Happy to connect with anyone who is curious to know more about the program or have any questions :))

My time at Tübingen University was incredibly fulfilling and has equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary for a bright future. The instructors, part of the exemplary TIES team, consistently went above and beyond to ensure that my study abroad experience was both pleasurable and intellectually stimulating. The abundance of resources and support provided by the school, including exclusive access to historic university libraries and unique spots around Tübingen, greatly enriched my academic journey. I was particularly impressed by the depth of knowledge displayed by my instructors in our discussions, which made each session both engaging and informative. This immersive program offered me invaluable insight on an international level, broadening my perspectives and enhancing my understanding of global issues. It was truly an experience of a lifetime, one that significantly contributed to both my personal growth and academic development. For all these reasons, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire TIES team for their unwavering commitment to excellence in education.

Thank you University of Tübingen for the best summer school experience I could have asked for! The staff, teachers and student guides are always so friendly, understanding and willing to help. They are definitely a big part of this whole experience being so great!

I learnt much more than I would have thought from the IES Summer School in Tübingen, about the German language, the European Union and communicating with Germans. I really loved the way classes were conducted in an engaging and enriching manner, and the teachers were very knowledgeable about the subject topics.

The atmosphere in University of Tübingen never failed to make all of us at home, dare I say, I was never homesick! Lastly, I also learnt to become more self-disciplined, politically aware and environmentally conscious through my experience at University of Tübingen.

Definitely come to Tübingen if you would like to experience the warmth and homeliness of Germany (and learn a lot)!

I would definitely recommend this program to friends around the world who are interested in boosting their German language proficiency and immersing in the German culture and way of life. Having been through around a year of online learning via Zoom, I am happy to be able to step into a classroom once again at Tübingen University. Tübingen is a true University Town and its tranquil environment as juxtaposed to the vibrant and diverse student population that resides there is part of its unique charm that draws people in; not just to study but also to live.

Personally I feel that I have not experienced all that Tübingen University has to offer, but from what I saw and heard, I can confidently say that I had a worthwhile time there. From professors and lecturers that are dedicated to their work to students that are engaged in learning, Tübingen University gave me a good impression.

Attending Summer School was an honour and I hope future participants would also benefit from the cultural exchanges in the University and with their host families, as well as the various classes that educate one on general knowledge about the European Union and Europe as an entity. Remember to be proactive, ask many questions and stay curious. You will be surprised at how much you can gain from this experience.

My participation in the T-IES Winter School 2026 at University of Tübingen was a truly enriching experience. While I initially joined the programme to gain international exposure and meet students from different countries, it became much more than that. It offered a meaningful academic, cultural, and personal journey.

Academically, the programme provided valuable insight into the structure and functioning of the European Union, particularly how regional integration influences national identity and the daily lives of citizens. The second course deepened my understanding of the human rights challenges faced by refugees and immigrants within complex political environments. These discussions were further enriched by the diverse perspectives of fellow students from countries such as Chile, South Korea, Brazil, Taiwan, Australia, Hong Kong, Brazil, Mexico and Ukraine which strengthened my appreciation for global viewpoints and empathy.

Tübingen itself is a charming university town with a vibrant student atmosphere, historic architecture, and a strong cultural identity. Living there allowed me to experience German culture firsthand, from its traditions and food to its religious and social influences. The visit to Strasbourg, including the opportunity to see the European Parliament, brought academic concepts to life and made the learning experience more tangible and impactful.

The programme was exceptionally well organized. The staff, lecturers, and student assistants were supportive, welcoming, and committed to ensuring that all participants felt comfortable and included. The buddy programme was particularly effective in helping us integrate, navigate the city, and build meaningful connections.

Beyond academics, experience fostered personal growth, independence, and lifelong friendships. As a student from South Africa, living in a historic European university town and adapting to a new environment broadened my perspective and strengthened my confidence.

I am sincerely grateful to everyone who made this programme possible. I would highly recommend the T-IES programme to any student seeking academic growth, cultural exposure, and a life-changing international experience.

From January to February, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the T-IES Winter School program at Tübingen University, and it was truly an unforgettable experience!

Being fully immersed in German culture while engaging in thought-provoking discussions on European identity, human rights, and religion broadened my horizons both academically and personally. This program reafrmed my ambition to pursue a Master’s degree (LLM) in Europe, giving me valuable insight into the European university experience.

One of the highlights was meeting so many incredible people from diverse backgrounds, I’ve now made lifelong friends from all over the world! The program was so well-organized, and the lecturers were incredibly supportive, making our stay in Tübingen truly special. I also thoroughly enjoyed the German language classes. And let’s not forget the study trips, each one was an adventure, but my absolute
favorite was visiting the European Parliament in Strasbourg, an experience I’ll never forget! This program pushed me out of my comfort zone, leading to both personal and academic growth, and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone considering applying.

If you’re looking for an enriching, eye-opening exchange experience, T-IES is the way to go!

Well, to be honest it was a really awesome program and I love everything and everyone I met throughout the program. In terms of academic, we got to learn some basic knowledge about the European Union issues which I found out really interesting. Also, if you are interested in learning German, it is a great program for you to develop and learn it and the teachers are really kind and helpful. Of course, I also got the chance to travel a lot around Europe, meeting my host family which treats me so nice and we are still keeping in touch now although the program is over. Not to forget, I met a bunch of awesome people from all around the world and we are like a huge family, and Tübingen is definitely our home! It was one of the most beautiful and memorable summer in my life.

First of all, living in an Asian country while learning about Europe, especially the EU, has been an incredible experience. Exploring the history and religion of the EU, and particularly Germany history, religion, and diversity, has been one of the most valuable experiences of my life.
Secondly, I was fortunate to meet an excellent German teacher who helped me build a strong foundation in the language. I also enjoyed engaging in daily conversations with my buddy, which greatly improved my speaking skills.
Thirdly, I truly appreciated the outstanding buddy program at the University of Tübingen. My buddy not only introduced me to German culture but also had an open mind, always engaging in meaningful discussions with me.
Fourthly, visiting the EU Parliament in Strasbourg was a transformative experience that gave me a new perspective.
Lastly, what I cherished the most was the opportunity to exchange cultures and languages with students from Africa, Malaysia, and Australia. This experience taught me that, despite differences in language and culture, we can still become friends.
I am grateful to have spent this beautiful winter in Tübingen with all of them.

The Tübingen Winter School will be a turning point in my life.

As a Korean student interested in the EU, this was a great opportunity to not only learn more about the EU from highly qualified professors but also experience teaching styles different from that of Korea. I loved the interactive nature of the classes and the opportunity to engage in discussions with students from all over the world! I feel the class captured  well the spirit of the EU, united in diversity :)

What did I enjoy most about the summer school?

One of the aspects I enjoyed most was the intercultural exchange where I was paired with my amazing buddy, Sophia who is German. I also loved the magical yet historical atmosphere of Tübingen. Exploring the town and eating Spätzle during breaks with my buddy group helped me feel immersed in the academic side of the course content and to feel slightly German.

What new skills or knowledge did I gain?

Academically, I developed a deeper understanding of memory studies, psychology and even biology through class discussion and collaborative projects. There's a big contrast in how we talked about things compared to my engineering degree - where there is usually only one right answer. Additionally, I improved my communication and awareness skills by tackling new, challenging concepts in such a diverse international setting.

What did I learn about myself?

Personally, I learned how adaptable I can be in unfamiliar environments, where I learnt German, followed local etiquette (recycling!) and by the end of it was able to recontextualise how I think about things back home in the UK. It also showed how much I enjoy exploring the world, and how it pushes me to think outside of my usual perspective/comfort zone.

How has the summer school influenced my academic or career goals?

The programme has let think about my engineering career with a new perspective - perhaps with a more philosophical approach. It also opened my eyes to the possibility of further international study & research - likely even in Tubingen!

What personal connections or friendships did I make?

I made lasting connections with both my peers and professors over the month. It felt freeing to talk about these sensitive/controversial/contemporary topics in an environment with other curious people, and I developed friendships with my classmates from France to Japan to the US, all over the world, which definitely has an inspiring feeling to it.

What aspects of the programme made the biggest impact on me?

Outside of the classroom, we had opportunities to explore the region (and other countries) using our unlimited public transport pass, engage with local culture, and participate in social events that created a real sense of community that I’ll miss.

How would I describe my overall experience?

This summer school has been transformative for both my academic and personal growth. I would highly recommend the programme to future students, especially those looking to push themselves socially whilst experiencing a new culture. It was a nice blend of studying, cultural enrichment, and personal development. I leave Tübingen feeling inspired and better prepared in life as a whole.

I applied to T-IES Winter School in Tübingen to see if the university was a good fit for me to pursue graduate school in Germany. I'm glad that I took the plunge into this program as it allowed me to experience life in Tübingen, take challenging and engaging courses on topics related to political/economic issues within Europe at a top university, explore the area of Baden-Württemberg while improving my German, and meet a community of friends from abroad that I still keep in contact with today. You'll have a solid support network of school staff and German students (buddies) at the university who are available to help you if you have any issues or concerns, and plenty of activities/events that this small university town has to offer! I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone interested in studying abroad, international relations, or German language courses that are provided at the university, both during and after your time in the program.

The IES Program at the University of Tübingen was not related at all to what I am currently studying at my home university, but I am extremely happy that I decided to pursue the opportunity to learn something completely new to me, have class with peers who come from different cultural backgrounds, and get a taste of what German university classes are like. I enjoyed the interactive learning style used with the professors and students in all of the courses. In this program, I built everlasting friendships with my host family and fellow student peers. I fell in love with Tübingen and am strongly considering coming back to the University of Tübingen for my master's degree. I will also add that this program built up my confidence, made me more independent, and greatly helped my time management skills. This program was life changing for me, and I strongly recommend anyone regardless of their major to take part in this wonderful academic program!

Studying abroad at the University of Tübingen has been by far the most insightful and memorable academic and personal experiences I have had the opportunity to be a part of. The cultural immersion, international political awareness, and connections created have become part of my repertoire in my field of study—International Relations. I recommend this program to anyone who has the means to do it; this study abroad experience truly changed the way I see the world and how I choose to navigate it.

My time at the IES program has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my academic career.  I would recommend it to any student willing to expand their minds and grow from the other individuals who take part in the program - I myself was able to leave with new friends and a better understanding of several cultures. The academic courses, the sights of Germany, and the people I met were all beyond amazing!

The IES Community has been such a fun and creative way to get to know everyone a little bit more. Without the ideas shared in the class cafe and the fun tasks to fulfill in the fabulous facts section, this virtual experience would not have been the same. Although we were unable to meet each other in person and explore the beautiful town of Tübingen this summer, it still felt like we formed a small community.
