Das International Advisory Board (IAB) wurde 2014 im Rahmen des in der Exzellenzinitiative erfolgreichen Zukunftskonzepts der Uni neu etabliert und berät die Universität hinsichtlich künftiger strategischer Weichenstellungen, der langfristigen Strategieplanung sowie mit Blick auf internationales Benchmarking. Dem Board gehören international renommierte Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler unterschiedlicher Fachdisziplinen an, die an ihrer jeweiligen Heimatuniversität oder in nationalen Wissenschaftsorganisationen in führenden Positionen tätig sind.

Durch das International Advisory Board erhält die Universität Tübingen wichtige Impulse aus unterschiedlichen Hochschulsystemen für ihre eigene Weiterentwicklung. Das Board tritt ca. alle zwei Jahre zur Beratung über aktuelle strategische Themen zusammen.
