The project Challenging Museums aims at addressing emergent societal questions for museums in three subsequent summer schools for BA and MA students on postcolonial legacies (Marseille 2022), refugee legacies (Athens 2023), and global epistemologies (Tübingen 2024). Based on a cooperation of three partners of the European university network CIVIS – l’Université Aix-Marseille, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the Eberhard-Karls-Universität of Tübingen – the project’s structural long-term objectives are: - to build a larger network around museum research(ers), resulting in the creation of a Museum Hub within CIVIS that is open to other CIVIS universities, museums and civic groups.
- to initiate new ways of collaborating within the field of museums and museum studies, based on synergies between Universities and Civic Society Partners.
Thus, the project will enhance the exchange between scientific knowledge from universities, museums and civic groups. For this purpose, it will try out (new) formats of collaboration between the different institutions on an international level. [read more] |
