Bachelor's and Master's theses: Hand in at the service bureau in Wilhelmstraße 19 or by post 'Zentrales Prüfungsamt, Studiengänge Biologie, Wilhelmstraße 19, 72074 Tübingen' (the postmark is the date of submission).

In order to organize the work of the Examinations Office efficiently, we kindly ask you to make use of the detailed information provided by the department before contacting us. This includes, in particular, the study plans and examination regulations, which can be found in the download area of the website. A collection of frequently asked questions (FAQ) can be found here. In order to shorten the processing time for applications, we ask that you only hand in completed applications to the Service Office of the Central Examination Office or send them by post.

Concerns the Bachelor's degree programme BSc Biology (Examination regulations 2024) and the Master's degree programmes MSc Biodiversity Ecology and Evolution / MSc Cellular and Immunological Biosciences / MSc Microbiology and Infection Biology / MSc Neurobiology:

Since the winter semester 2024/25 there are new B.Sc. / M.Sc. biology courses and the exam registration takes place in ALMA. This also applies to Bachelor's students who have enrolled on the new Master's degree programs. For students in the new B.Sc./M.Sc. degree programs, registration for examinations in alma will be activated for the current winter semester starting on December 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Special regulations for examinations before December 1, 2025: In addition to the resits (alternative dates) from the 2025 summer semester, exams for block courses in the 2025/26 winter semester can also be registered before December 1, 2025, if the exam has been activated in alma (if necessary, inquire by email with the responsible administrator at the Examination Office).

If you would like to take part in an exam, please make sure to register and note the examiners' announcements on the actual date. If you would like to take part in an examination, registration is mandatory. A service can only be booked if you have registered in alma. BSc/MSc-examination database (new degree programmes): The ALMA portal can bi found  here (since winter semester 2024/2025).

Concerns the discontinued Bachelor's degree programme BSc Biologie (Examination regulations 2012) and the discontinued Master's degree programmes with German-language designation MSc Evolution & Ökologie, MSc Mikrobiologie, MSc Molekulare Zellbiologie & Immunologie, MSc Neurobiologie, MSc Zelluläre & molekulare Biologie der Pflanzen:

With the introduction of ALMA, nothing will change in the examination administration for B.Sc./M.Sc. biology students (expiring degree programs) who started their studies BEFORE the winter semester 2024/25, the grades (achievements) will continue to be managed in the special examination administration database of biology. For this reason, there is also no examination registration in ALMA and the examinations of B.Sc./M.Sc. biology students will therefore be taken as usual. Please enquire with the examiner.
