Research Interests
ML Meets The Environment
Our research interests are on Artificial Intelligence-driven environmental monitoring and assessment. Artificial Intelligence is a rapidly rising topic that has just recently received attention in environmental research.
As a result, we use machine learning and statistical methodologies to try to answer the following questions:
How can we reliably quantify or assess our natural resources (such as soils and vegetation) in regions where we have not sampled or are unable to sample?
What happens to natural resources throughout time and space? What drives such shifts? Can this be replicated with AI-based technology?
Can we develop dependable, easy-to-understand models to help us comprehend the natural world?
