Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology

Content & Organization of our Research: The Research Hubs

With five specialized Research Hubs and the cross-sectional area Center for Randomized Field Trials, along with its use-inspired research, the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology provides pioneering answers to key educational questions.

Through an innovative structuring of work via Research Hubs, the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology prevents the siloing of research activities and promotes the cooperative nature of the institute as a distinct strength. Each hub is led by a team that typically includes at least two professors. There are significant overlaps between the hubs, both in terms of personnel and project activities, which are explicitly desired and encouraged.

The thematic focus of the hubs reflects the institute’s current priorities. These priorities are influenced by scientific, societal, political, and technological developments and may change over time to ensure that our research continues to address the relevant questions in the field of education.
