Head: Professor Dr. Wilhelm Kley †

We are deeply saddened and shocked by the sudden and unexpected death of Professor Wilhelm Kley on 21/12/21.

On these pages, please find some information on our research within Computational Astrophysics. One main focus is the investigation of the formation process of stars and planets by developing new numerical methods and algorithms for high-performance computing.

We are part of the DFG Research Unit FOR 2634/1 Planet Formation Witnesses and Probes: Transition Disks.

We contribute to the DFG Special Research Programm SPP 1992 Exploring the diversity of extrasolar planets.

Bad Honnef Physics School - Extrasolar Planets: Their Formation and Evolution.

From January 2015 until May 2021, we hosted the Emmy Noether Research Group on Massive Star Formation.

From January 2007 until December 2013 we had our DFG Research Group 759 on "Planet Formation".
