Marcel Vondermaßen studied philosophy and political science in Freiburg. In 2014 he received his doctorate in sociology, philosophy and political science on the topic "Recognition - A new guiding concept for politics". In 2015, he became one of the prizewinners of the Research Institute for Philo-sophy in Hanover. He has been a researcher at the IZEW since 2016.
