Personality conference: Researchers from six nations visit the Hector Research Institute
In focus: The interfaces of personality and educational research in the three areas of self-regulation, curiosity and personality development
Researchers from six nations were guests at the Personality Conference hosted by the Hector Institute from 12 to 15 June. The focus was on the interfaces of personality and educational research in the three areas of self-regulation, curiosity and personality development. The fourth day offered the opportunity to discuss important practical and scientific challenges and possibilities for the integration of personality and education.
In the morning, the speakers gave insights into their research areas in lectures and panel discussions. In the afternoon, the contents could be deepened on an individual level in smaller discussion rounds and roundtables. In addition, participants had the opportunity to present a poster or a short talk on any topic related to individual differences and education.
The conference was a successful further development of the lecture series on personality psychology that has existed since 2014. For the researchers at the Hector Institute, the format not only provided an opportunity to learn about the current state of cutting-edge international research, but also a platform to present their own research and receive feedback, and thus the opportunity to develop new ideas for future international collaborations.
The speakers:
Prof. Dr. Wiebke Bleidorn (University of Zurich, Switzerland)
Prof. Dr. Colin DeYoung (University of Minnesota, USA)
Prof. Dr. Marie Hennecke (University of Siegen, Germany)
